This weekend, I was lucky enough to visit Weston-super-Mare. As a child and teenager, I visited regularly, enjoying rock pooling, donkey rides, paddling and playing on the pier.
The beach is still as golden as I remembered, and I was pleased to see the shells I collected as a child were still abundant.
The cold weather meant sandcastle building was out, but it was relaxing watching the tide come in.
Even in the winter, the seaside is beautiful. Just make sure you wrap up warm.
