A Year of Nature Watching

Posted by

2016 has been my most nature-filled year since childhood. It started with a desire to spend more time outside; was fuelled by discovering wonderful nature-loving people on Twitter through #30DaysWild, and getting into the habit of taking nature pictures every day; became more addictive as foraging season kicked in; and is now an important part of my life.

While I’ve been unable to maintain daily nature walks recently, for health reasons, I’ve still found joy in nature whenever I could.

From watching ducklings grow into ducks and cygnets into swans, to picking the abundant fruits offered by nature and admiring the pollinators, or simply seeing the plants change over the seasons, there’s beauty to be found in so many places. Getting out in nature is relaxing, inspirational and a great way to have fun without spending a fortune.
