As the days get lighter, the season is finally shifting towards spring. Blossom is starting to cover the trees’ nudity, bulbs are pushing through the soil and the fresh green of new life is spreading through the hedgerows.
Crocuses, daffodils and snowdrops are all particular markers of spring for me, but the vibrance of new dandelions also adds a welcome flash of colour.
Though there’s still not quite the full gamut of colours to be seen in flower form, the tiny flowers on the canal banks are opening up more every day.
