Upcycle Your Life: Home and Wedding Celebrations

upcycle your life 6 home and wedding

On August 25th, head to Fearon Hall, Loughborough for the sixth Upcycle Your Life. This month, Upcycle Your Life has a home and wedding theme, to help you enhance your home and have a bargain wedding (or other kind of love celebration).

Learn how to make your own bouquets, corsages, handfasting ribbons and wedding favours. Discover recipes for wedding mocktails and cocktails, and bring clothes along to swap in the wedding and prom themed swap-shop. If you’ve got old jewellery, dresses, suits or wedding décor you’re not using, bring them along to help someone on a budget have a better wedding.

Learn how to make your own toiletries for a budget hen spa evening, or create something beautiful (and useful) for your home. Make a draught excluder from old tights to help keep out the cold, create a hot water bottle cover or cushion from an old jumper, knit or crochet a plastic mat to keep you (or someone else) dry when sleeping outdoors and create art from the contents of your recycling box to entertain yourself while making something from items that would otherwise be wasted.

Enjoy Co-op Fairtrade drinks, and tasty food from the Fearon Hall Foodwaste cafe, Find out more about Transition Loughborough and Wastenot Leicestershire, and meet other local eco and money-saving groups. The doors open at 11am and the event finishes at 2pm.

Future Upcycle Your Life events for your diary include the Fabulous Fearon Foodwaste Feast on September 22nd; Share the Harvest! on 27th October and the ‘Feastive’ Celebration on 15th December. All events run from 11am-2pm. For more information, along with a host of other events and sessions, visit the Fearon Hall website.
